Who does not know Lord Krishna? For nearly a billion Hindus in India, Krishna or Shri Krishna or Sri Krishna is the ultimate god, an avatar of Lord Vishnu, who visited earth to emancipate the people from the misrule of Kansa and then to guide the Pandavas to defeat the Kauravas and to bring to an end the injustice on earth. God Krishna or hare Krishna is revered by Hindus and they try to follow the path shown by Sri Krishna or Shri Krishna.
Krishna or Shri Krishna was the seventh child of Devki, the sister of Kansa, who was the ruler of Mathura and the people were fed up of his misrule. God Krishna or hare Krishna or Lord Krishna was destined to grow up and emancipate the poor people from the clutches of the demon king of Mathura. Kansa had vowed to kill Krishna or Shri Krishna or Sri Krishna on birth but his father took hi to safety to a village called Gokul where he lived and grew up. Later on, Lord Krishna or hare Krishna went to Mathura and killed his maternal uncle Kansa to liberate the people of Mathura.
Later in his life, god Krishna or Lord Krishna set up his kingdom in Dwarka and played a big part in Mahabharata, the mother of all wars on the face of the earth. Shri Krishna or Sri Krishna was a relative of both the Kauravas and the Pandavas who were cousins and the Kauravas wanted to throw the Pandavas out of the kingdom to get the reins. Lord Krishna or god Krishna intervened and tried to convince the Kauravas but all his efforts went in vain. So he decided to give his mighty forces to the Kauravas and sided with the Pandavas. The battle of Mahabharata began and hare Krishna or Krishna only provided moral support to the Pandavas. His mere presence was enough to motivate the Pandavas and they crushed the Kauravas to win the battle and gain the kingdom back from the Kauravas. Hare Krishna or god Krishna is remembered for his role in the Mahabharata. Krishna or Sri Krishna is the savior of the people.
